We connect conscious consumers with global artisans through trade and storytelling, for the support of dignified work, economic empowerment, and long-term sustainability, so that overlooked communities can flourish because of the work of their own hands.

When we traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, one word kept greeting us: "Selam." In Amharic it means peace, but it is also the everyday way that people say hello.Though our goal is for Selam Collective to grow globally, our story begins in Kore, Ethiopia, and our roots will always come back there. We chose this name as a tribute to the people who welcomed us with Selam and shared their lives and work with us.Every time you see our name, remember it begins with Ethiopia and the stories woven into each handmade good, quite literally.
From handwoven baskets and blankets to leather goods, textiles, and jewelry, our collections share the work of artisans in Ethiopia. We will launch through local pop-ups and markets in Loudoun County, along with an online store so you can connect from anywhere.
